I agree, Mr Legard is a dreadful motormouth, he should move to speedway where first off the line wins, what a plonker, talk talk talk facts and figures about any race bar the one we are watching...get rid!!! David and Martin are good Eddie? sorry he doesn,t offer much. Lee in the pits ?.more like IS the pits.... get Suzie from moto GP she,s the tops. Excuse me,we have enough to put up with on speedway with Nigel (scream me head off) Pearson!! We dont want Legiron here thanks!! PS when was the last time you watched Speedway??

Will someone please tell JONATHAN LEGARD to bog off! Just tell him to back where he came from. the man bores me to tears, Constant mistakes about drivers & teams, A voice that would put an insomniac to sleep. If this is the best the BBC can find, god help us all.........................

I disagree. A little more human interaction, with mistakes too, is refreshing. Perfect everything isn't the best.
I normally cringe listening to EJ and DC too as they are too one sided but this is what's good about the BBC coverage, it's different and mixed with other commentators being less biased.
Whether they have better TV skills as a team or not, I am enjoying this mix of commentary more than I did when it was on ITV. EJ is a close one though. For a team owner and seriously wealthy businessman he sure comes across as a wally quite often but today I think his call is the right one. Cheating is cheating however you wish to call it and covering it up or simply saying that's the business we're in like DC does is wrong.
Sorry to contradict but BBC is delivering entertainment brilliantly.

PLEASE PLEASE GET RID OF LEGARD!!! The man is SO boring, nearly always wrong and gives me a headache - because I keep shouting at him!! (I know he can't hear but I can't stand the man!) It is easy to say 'press the red button and change commentators' but I like Martin Brundle (how does he put up with the old duffer?!) and anyway you can't do that when watching on video as I normally have to. The one benefit to watching on video is that you can wind forward when he rambles on! Why doesn't the BBC get Ian Titchmarsh to join Martin Brundle? He has been the track commentator at Silverstone for yonks. What Ian doesn't know about motor sport at all levels could be written on the back of a postage stamp!! Please Legard, put us all out of our misery and bog off back to radio!!!

Well i have to say that along with many others i'm sure i breathed a sigh of relief to learn BBC were going to cover F1. However there were some reservations - who would cover it commentating. Well i have found Jonathan Legard has improved but still drops bricks - but lets face it so did Murray. He was awful to start with but he could carry another season. However without Martin Brundle it would be very poor and the addition of David Coulthard has also worked well - but please please please get rid of Eddy Jordan for next Season he adds nothing, is interested in only one thing (Eddy Jordan), and take for example this Suzuka weekend (besides forgetting where he was) I have no interest in him getting Ross Brawn to sing karaoke in the old Log Cabin after the race, but let me add i have a great deal of time and respect for Ross Brawn. I'll be honest i started off liking having Jordan on the team but that only lasted the first 2 grand prix - get rid of him BBC. All his references to "when it was my team" get on the nerves - face it Eddy it isn't your team now (Force India) and YOU left the sport. Eddy pushes himself at the cost of all others, considers he is the only one with a valid viewpoint, and DC is a minor player as far as he is concerned and he constantly has digs at him. I'm sure DC can stand up for himself but it shouldn't be necessary and doesn't make good TV. I have news for Jordan, F1 fans would rather hear about F1 racing from drivers - they know what they are talking about when it comes to what happens on the track etc a lot better than former team owners. Bye Eddy - i hope Mike I salute you!!!!!!!!............................. that's exactly what i was moaning on about in the pub - they were more interested in emmerdale though! DC has been there in the midst and Eddie harks on about what 'used' to be ....... 'in my day.....'. SHUT UP EDDIE JORDAN! Rant over...... I never thought I'd miss ITV..........................

I disagree, I'm enjoying this years commentry. For sure Martin Brundle is the man but I'm also enjoying Eddie Jordan and David Coulthards views/comments. Sure I don't always agree but should I. I will say I did preferr the ITV's website

I was over the moon when the BBC took over F1 coverage and on the whole I think the coverage so far surpasses that of ITV let alone not now having to be interurupted with banal advertising.
Since day one though Mr Legard has niggled me somewhat. He may well of been good on radio I don't know' but his coverage of F1 really is pitiful and mostly inconsequential and I have to agree with other posters that he is bringing down the performance of Martin Brundel who I think is brilliant. The BBC urgently need to address this problem as it's now grating on me and some other fans I know, as much as advertising did on ITV
The other 3 presenters are suberb an excellent mix of driver DC and x team boss Eddie was a clever way to go, and the banter and debates between the pair are largely informative and entertaining. The third man Jake Humphrey is top dollar, never short of the right thing to say, and clearly does some indepth homework before going on air. All the other presenters are up to the mark and are credible and knowledgable.
It is clear as mud that the majority of F1 fans dislike Mr Legards commentry, please please do something about it NOW I really don't think I can last many more races with his commentory.

Hmmmmmm each to his own but I think the coverage is excellent and the hosts do a fantastic job. In particular, I find Brundle's knowledge awesome.

I know that this is a fairly old link now, but I feel that having two racing drivers comment on F1 is gelling into a much better synergy than we have seen previously. Although I like Murray Walker as a personable guy he did drive me crazy with his relentless radio-speak babble, oversubscribed in statistics and lacking in seat-of-the-pants reaction. Jonathan Legard was even worse, adding rhetorical questions to fill in the gaps between breath intakes. What a delight it is to get lightning-fast and insightful comments from Brundle and Coultard, who live and breathe with true racing minds and augment our enjoyment of the live races. DC is now warming to the task and has the quality of whimsy too. For me, Brundle and Coultard are doing a fine job.

Yep, the commentary from The BBC (Brundel and Coulthard) is even better this year than last now that Coulthard has been added to the commentary box in place of Legard.
Brundel has always been the class act but Coulthard has to me been surprisingly good. Brundel doesnt just have the knowledge , he has the ability to explain it all and enhance the viewing to entusiastic non-F1 drivers like me. He is simply superb.
When the BBC does sport they do it brilliantly e.g Golf, football, snooker and of course F1. They also get the best commentators for the job.

For me the new quartet has found their feet and doing a sterling job. Personally now look forward to the qualifiers as much as race day; indeed the banter has improved much, in as much that one feels part of the paddock, enjoying the discussion and craic too. Eddie Jordon is a much needed part of this quartet, as only he has the real inside knowledge to the levels of chicanery that exists in F1; past or present. Martin, Jake or Budgie wouldn’t dare ask the probing questions that Eddie does. Simply put, they’ve never been part of the Piranha Club, so are in a sense are clueless to what really can go on. Eddie’s the man for the job.F1 would be a much poorer place without him.
