Question for Martin Brundle - Yet again we have another British success, and yet again the media are just as quick to bring him down. Lewis Hamilton has been the great spark the British people have needed for the feel good factor. I don't remember any brit complaining last season when he became world champ, and . And yet the media jump on every oppurtunity to wreck the party. Last weekend Lewis started from the back of the grid, did he complain no, he got on with the job and reacted like a true champ. He had every right to take 3rd place when Trulli went off, but wasn't sure, he got the word to let Trulli past. He gave up 3rd place at that point on advice from his team (maclaren). After the race he looked

dejected, yet he should have looked resilient. I for one believe he was told after the race to say nothing on orders from his team. I also believe he feels remorse. Question is do we let our world champion feel remorse for something he was told to do?

The FIA & Stewards combined FAILED YET AGAIN - (In FIVE DAYS they change their decision "T H R E E" TIMES!!!) – That’s SO RE-ASSURING!
The were quick to show the “Whole World & its Mother”, their new “State of the Art, ADVANCED Technical equipment………but FAILED to match it with individuals possessing the abilities and intellect to utilise this at even the very BASIC level.
I’m a McLaren / Lewis Fan and make no apologies for that, and will continue to be so INSPITE of this. Are ALL the Teams – Drivers – FIA - Media & “Us the Public” as Pure as the Driven Snow…....”N O!” …………are all the above mentioned HYPOCRITS……..”YES!!!” . The whole farce is a reflection on Society, yet as individuals we somehow feel vindicated if SOMEONE ELSE does it, we then become Judge & Jury with enthusiasm.
As for the FIA & Stewards, they are like the B(w)ankers of this world - NOT FIT FOR PURPOSE!
Yet as usual the whole MEDIA focus is on sideshows - Shame on you!

The SPANISH & BRAZILIAN PRESS get behind their Sporting Heros, we just tear ours down. Then expect them to perform like puppets to a SUPER HUMAN level with a smile on our face.
When will we ever learn. As usual the Press subjects their Sporting Icons to a ....FROM HERO to ZERO bashing, instead of supporting, guiding and nurturing, surely that has to be the better way.
I'm not defending bad behaviour, that's where the guidance will come in. We ALL have a COLLECTIVE RESPONSIBILITY to our Sports People.
MARTIN BRUNDLE, you didn't exactly exude above-average abilities when you were an F1 driver, pretty much forgettable really, yet you seem quite happy to be judgemental instead of supporting of our current World Champion. It's easy to be critical, much harder to be correct with a clear conscience!!!

Well Said!!!
You are correct and yes the British press are always very quick to rubbish our sporting hero's. Lets be honest though, F1 is not really very well reported in the first place.
Last weekend Button and Brawn GP, a real British combination along with a probably the most known of British brands, Virgin, achieved a spectacular result. How much coverage did this fantastic result get compared to the football? Not much! But given the chance to rubbish our youngest F1 World Champion the UK media cannot wait to stick the knife in.
It is a shame to say that in the UK it seems the British public are only interested in scandals and not really interested in supporting our sporting hero's.

It is said ( by media pundits) that the reading/viewing public get what they ask for, in some respects this is true, this country is football mad, I am not, but I respect those who are. I follow F1. It is a sad truth that the British press will always find something about a person in sport, art, literature, showbusiness etc, who has done well to, ' put down'. We glorify their winning, and are proud that they are British, good for us. BUT WE BUY the B......y papers, and watch the B......y tv, that is knocking them. Give them all a fair chance, they, including the overpaid, have put their efforts on the line, they and their families started with nothing, no skills, no money. They have got there, we are still sitting on our fat ...... helping the press to 'put down' the talent of others. Don't buy the papers, don't look at the TV. BUT keep looking at this message board, there are other nuts out there like me.
