Hi We have had some early feedback from visitors to our www.bbcf1.com website regarding the BBCF1 commentary and it seems that people are not very impressed. The general opinion is that the old team including Louise are being missed. Maybe we will see an improvement as the season moves forward as this was only their first attempt. Eddie Jordon however is possibly not going to last very long if he continues to argue with the much loved D.C.

Give them a chance at least they have a command of English and know how to use the word "What" Mark Blundell didn't and always came across as not suitable for the job. Thought the rest did a brilliant first time job and have the knowledge and will always improve, it took ITV 6 months to get a reasonable presentation, no more ads Hooray!! Trust they will make a stronger representation to the stewards who yet again seem set to ruin the hole show. Get rid of stupid regulations - they seem to be able to overtake now so let them get on with it unless life threatening. Fight on the track not afterwards in Stewards meetings. Thought rules said decisions had to be made same day now not half a week later. Hamilton/Truly saga HERE WE GO AGAIN FARCE1 not F1

Commentary:- Too many 'talking heads' and not enough action (and this does not apply just to F1!!). Also can we ban sunglasses when people are being interviewed on camera. To change the subject - I think the TV schedules should fit into the race timing, and not vice versa. Evening races with low sun and fading light cannot be good news for the drivers, and it will be a pity if accidents occur unnecessarily for this reason. Nico Rosberg has complained, so should the other drivers. From Roger Salisbury.

Commentary not to bad when done by the experts, i.e. David cultard and Eddie, shame about the new kid but give him a chance, when he learns the program is about the cars drivers and teams and stops talking over the pro's all will be well.
And for Christs sake sack the stupid idiot that has been given the job of filling each and every spot of dead air with rubbish music noise that is not needed or wanted, i feel the idiot is on day release from some other crap soap or rubbish like that.
Or the standard will never reach the high level that I.T.V. managed after they got rid of their sound miss mixing idiot.
Regards to all.

Hi All
The BBC commentary does seem to be getting discussed a lot and I agree it is early days. I am sure things will improve in time.
The problem again it seems this season already is that the politics of F1 is being discussed more than the racing. I hope the 2009 season will not be overshadowed again by these problems.
On another note I see Alonso is still bitching about the McLaren team and how they treated him so badly. Isn't it about time you got over it Fernando???

I thought i was going mad, it's good to see others have the same concerns. Murray walker blighted most of the memorable GP's Followed by ITV's adverts and now it's Mr Legard. Its no crime to make mistakes by you have to be brave to do something about it come on BBC sort it.

I reckon BBC are doing a pretty good job except for the creepy Eddie Jordan! Is he a "luvvie" or something, everyone is fantastic, when something is right he has to add the adverb "absolutely", and he loves Bernie - oh please! Can we have Mike Gascoine back, a proper technical man, Coulthard is the same brilliant calming influence reminiscent of James Hunt. Hang on to him.

I don't think a football style commentary suits F1. This is really spoiling my enjoyment of the racing. Mr. Ledgard is also making to many mistakes, which can be seen for ourselves, I wonder what Martin Brundle thinks about it. Mr. Legard obviously has lots of statistics at his disposal, I wonder if he knows how many times he said "pushing on" in his commentary today?

I quite liked Jake's opening 'interviews' with some of the old F1 greats. DC is very knowledgeable but perhaps EJ needs to needle him a little less. Martin, as ever, is brilliant. He sees things as they happen and imparts that info with complete accuracy and that adds to the enjoyment of the race. Louise v Lee? Give the girl a chance. As for the lack of ads, nothing could be better! Keep it up team, I'm sure any remaining blips will be ironed out soon.

The grid-walk commentator does nothing for Britain other than project us as a nation of ignorant self-centred individuals. Has he never heard of the words, excuse me, please and thank you? He barges about the gird, bumping into people and interrupting other presenters. He needs to learn some manners. I know that the BBC pay a lot of money to screen this event but it doesn't give him the right to treat everyone with distain.

pesonally i think the commentary is good. i like the insites from ex drivers and owners. and as for eddie jordan he gives everyone a hard time and so he should how else are we going to see the true colours of teams unless he gets up there back. what really gets me is why split bthe coverage onto two channels i recorded the WHOLE race because i wanted to watch the whole race when i get home from work only to find the bbc split it over bbc 1 and 2 so i missed the second half of the race. so as you can imagine i'm not very happy at all. why? ??

Not how I came to miss him on TV before, but where did this Jake character come from and what is his pedigree to be discussing F1. Oh, by the way, I think he is an absolute tosser.
